It was a historic season for Lady Irish basketball. Head coach Jennifer Burch led her Lady Irish to Tulsa to take home a state championship trophy.

However, news has broke this afternoon that Jennifer Burch will resign as head coach for the Lady Irish basketball team.

Burch did not intend to leave after Bishop McGuinness won its first girls basketball state championship, but wants to focus on her new family with her new husband she just married last summer.

The tough decision made by Burch was one she felt was the right one. Burch said it was just time to step away from basketball and recharge her batteries.

The future of the Lady Irish basketball program seems to be in good shape though with the work that Coach Burch has put in after 11 years with the school. Irish On Deck wishes Burch the best in her future endeavors.
