Irish Baseball in Full Swing

Coach Wade and the Irish baseball team are back for more, as the 2010 season is in full order. Bishop McGuinness, holding an 11-4 record, are riding a five game win streak and ranked ninth in 4A.

The season started off a bit bumpy with a season-opening loss to Clinton back on March 2. However, they put that loss in the past, and readied themselves for a slate of 6A and 5A opponents.

Recently as mentioned, the Irish are holding a five game win streak. That started back in the Washita Valley Classic when they shutout Lawton, 8-0. In that same stretch, they embarrassed 5A’s El Reno, 16-1.

To cap off the month of March, the Irish knocked off the 16th-ranked Tecumseh Savages, 10-1. The Irish scored four runs in the first inning, and there was no looking back for McGuinness.

Coach Wade’s squad resumes their season April 5 on the road against 4A opponent Newcastle. It’s certainly been a good season so far, and you won’t want to miss out on the rest of the action this year.
