Week 8 Preview: Guymon Tigers

The way Camden Tharp has been playing lately, the Irish should have no problem demolishing the Tigers of Guymon High School. Guymon is another slack team that McGuinness will pound into the ground. Plain and simple, Guymon hasn’t enough talent to even compete with McGuinness for a quarter.

All right that was a bit harsh. However, in my defense, from my recent scouting of Guymon; this team just doesn’t have the right formula to winning football games. They lack an offense that can keep them in games against tougher opponents. Neither do they have a talented defense to put up numbers of their own. Now crazier things have happened, but this Fighting Irish team is just too solid on both sides of the ball.

Guymon played their first three games out of state, and didn’t score a touchdown until week 4 when they played their first game in Oklahoma. The Tiger’s record says it all. 1-6 doesn’t cut it for a school like McGuinness. I’ll give a quick little breakdown of this game.

How the Irish will win: a. Finding the stadium in Guymon b. Camden Tharp and LaRone Richardson running the option effectively will propel McGuinness to a W. The defense has proven themselves, it’s time for the offense to play lights out each quarter. Another reason how the Irish will win is if they completely forget about the fact that they just came off a tough victory against the #3 team in 4A, and focus on the road ahead.

How the Tigers will win: a. Buy the points on eBay.com b. Tiger’s will have to pray that the Irish are cocky coming into the game, and Guymon can punch them right in the mouth with a TD to open up the game. Keep McGuinness’ defense on their heels and missing tackles, the Tigers might have a slight chance.

Score Prediction: 49-3, McGuinness
