McGuinness Plows Piedmont, 54-14

Not many people thought Piedmont could beat the 2-1 Fighting Irish, but after the Wildcat’s first series, and scored on the Irish easily, some thought it might be a totally different ball game. Early in the game, Irish fans were hit with another shocking moment, Camden Tharp was drilled, and would sit out the rest of the game. It was up to third-string David Krahl to lead to the Irish to victory.

As the game progressed, Krahl became more poised in the pocket, and aired out the football. The Irish were stomping all over the Wildcats at halftime, 33-7. This being a big help from the Irish O-line.

Everyone’s doubts went away, as the Irish completely destroyed Piedmont on both sides of the field. The Piedmont Wildcats weren’t taken seriously for a reason. The Irish were the far superior team on the field this Friday.

The win was great for the confidence of Krahl, and they take on Weatherford next week on the road. The Irish will have to bring that same stingy defense once again, because the offense is becoming more unpredictable by the week.

Hopefully next week’s game won’t be as cold and rainy. Stout Field had a slight drizzle, and winds breezing throughout the game. Not that it was a huge bother to the players, but the rain made it little bit more slippery.

hey this sight is awesome these little bits of the games are tight! hopefully you could put all of them together at the end of the season for a pump up film or somethin for a pep assembly at the school! but for future references the center “snaps” the ball, not “hikes” it. and Clint is getting the job done pretty well! we all just have to remember he is a sophmore and still finding his place! thanks again for the sweet sight!
